ABOUT US

We are committed to community-based public health research and education related to musculoskeletal issues.

The NWOI is located on the University of Washington, Tacoma campus in the historic Tacoma Union Station district. It is one block from the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center and only 30 minutes from Seatac International Airport. We offer excellent space and equipment which can be adapted to meet a variety of needs.

ABOUT YOU

As a volunteer you are in a unique position – you are reaching beyond the confines of paid employment to contribute your time and talents to a non-profit cause.

Volunteers are welcomed as an integral part of our team, helping to accomplish our mission of improving the quality of life of all members of our community.

Our aim is for your volunteer experience with us to be as valuable as possible. Volunteering at the NWOI provides an opportunity for you to use your time and skills to help others.

HOW WE ACHIEVE THIS BALANCE

  • Identify volunteer opportunities for you at the NWOI
  • Create individual, structured programs for each volunteer
  • Ensure on-going, two-way evaluations
