RESEARCH SUPPORT SERVICES
In the research part of our mission, we seek to produce deliverable,
reliable, and accurate research data which ultimately will be
disseminated to improve the quality of life of all members of
our community.
Orthopedics is one of the largest areas of health care and
accounts for more than three million hospitalizations annually.
Musculoskeletal conditions and injuries are responsible for
130.7 million visits to physician’s offices, hospitals,
and emergency departments every year. From the young athlete
with a knee injury to an adult with carpal tunnel syndrome to
a senior with arthritis, orthopedics touches us all.
Our Research and Education interests include, but are not limited
to:
- Adult musculoskeletal health
- Arthritis treatments
- Fall prevention in older adults
- Exercise in older adults
- Total hip and knee replacement surgery and outcomes
- Adult hip and knee reconstruction
- Orthopaedic informatics
- Healthy aging
- Public, academic and professional musculoskeletal health
education
- Collaborative multidisciplinary and public health musculoskeletal
research
In addition to our own direct research, NWOI can provide the
services to others whose research interests align with ours.
